San Telmo Presents: Meyers Place Latin Fiesta
This October 16th we finally get to put our coats away and get our floral head pieces out because festival season kicks off with the Meyers Place Latin Fiesta! After a great success last year, the best that Meyers Place has to offer; will again unite and present to you a fiesta like no other. MPLF 2016 includes San Telmo, Loop, Loop Roof, Lily Blacks and new comer Pizza Pizza Pizza.
We will be going all out on Sunday October 16 to celebrate all things Latin. Get ready to dance, eat and drink Melbourne! Every venue will be represented in the laneway, selling Latin inspired food and drinks. Expect empanadas, sangria, Latin crafts, dance classes and much much more.
The concept is the brainchild of Renee McConnell (owner of San Telmo restaurant), who’s love for the suburb called San Telmo in Buenos Aires has lead to the idea of re creating the fiesta of its bustling Sunday street market. The scale, culture and atmosphere at this market is incredible. So why not join together with ex-pats wanting a taste of home and locals who want to party like Latinos. With the contribution of Meyers Place traders and special guests from retail and entertainment industries to create a buzz around Latin America’s culture.
This years entertainment will be very special, as Mick Williams (Latin Connection Entertainment) has developed a musical brief to fit the modern Melbourne scene. Keeping in mind that Latin American culture has spread all over Australia, he has themed the entertainment of the festival in SPANGLISH. Where Spanish and English music comes together. Bringing you the best of both worlds.
